I have finally decided to start working on Emma's 100 Good Wishes Quilt.
*A 100 Good Wishes Quilt is a tradition that started in Northern China to welcome and celebrate a new life. A Bia, Jia Bei or 100 Good wishes Quilt is made. It is a custom to invite friends and family to contribute a patch of cloth with a wish for the baby.
*Part of the patch of cloth goes into the quilt for the baby, and the other part of the cloth goes into a scrapbook with the wish for the child. The quilt contains the blessings of all the families and friends who contributed a piece of fabric.
*This is what we are requesting...*We like all kinds of fabrics, stripes, plaids, asian prints , stars, girly fabric... etc. (You get the idea). *We would prefer 100% pre-shrunk or pre-washed fabric.
*We are looking for 8x8 rotary cut squares or 9x9 scissor cut squares.
*We would love to get a wish from you to our daughter Emma.
*You have a lot of freedom when creating your wish for Emma. People find their inspiration in different ways.
*Some people use song lyrics, a quote, a bible verse or even a word with its definition. How creative you want to be is up to you.
*For a wish...make it no larger than 8X10 that has a space on it to write your wish, and glue a little piece of the fabric you sent. *If you would like to contribute (and we hope that you do)...please contact us by email and we will send you information on where to send your square & wish.
*So all of our family, friends and soon to be friends please send us a wish and a square. So Emma can have a little piece of your heart, and you'll have a place in hers.

I will send you a square. I am making one for Sarah, too since I didn't know about them before we adopted her. Email me at troynrobin@comcast.net and I'll send you one. If you want to help with Sarah's too, you can send us one. If not, no problem, I'm almost to 100.
Thanks,
Robin
